About us

What is DARG?

The Developing Areas Research Group (DARG) is one of the largest and most active research groups in the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers). The DARG membership is largely made up of academics, postgraduates and practitioners interested in development geographies. Our work has tended to have an empirical focus on Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, but in recent years this has extended to cover the transitional societies of Eastern Europe and the ex-USSR.
